The thing that I don't get about this one is that it seems to be working against their own self interest. I don't have any actual facts to back it up, I'd imagine that it would help business rather than hurt it. What companies have made the name of their business synonymous with the product genre or the process of using it? Think Xerox, Kleenex, etc. Branding like that is free, word-of-mouth advertising.
